After we had finished recording, we discovered that her father and my father were both studying at Clare College, Cambridge at the same time, along with their classmate, David Attenborough. Line managed to find a photo with all three of them in it - wasn't that a coincidence!
Looking after the health of our voices is of paramount importance. It's also essential for everyone to acknowledge that injuries and voice problems will inevitably be a part of a singer's career. We don't expect athletes to pretend there's nothing wrong if they injure themselves - musicians should be no different. And yet, there's still a stigma surrounding voice problems. It's time to change!

Full day of meetings on Friday 15th for The Healthy Conservatoire; discussing variety of topics from Body Image awareness in costume fittings to hearing protection for musicians. All really important topics.
Saturday 16th was a training day for clinicians and educators. I was on a panel discussing the interface between clinicians and educators in health training provision for performers and teachers. These are exciting times, we are considering how to introduce guidelines for Vocal Health education and training.

I've just been given a full award by VASTA to enable me to travel to Philadelphia and present a paper at this amazing international conference. I'm speaking about my research with adolescent boys singers:
"Which Sung Pitch Range is Best for Boys during Voice Change?"
The symposium will be full of the world's leading voice scientists and health practitioners as well as teachers and researchers in all fields relating to voice.
